The Time Is Ripe for Divide & Conquer
January 22, 2010
It shouldn’t come as any surprise that
the Obama Administration is doing everything they can to place the blame for
Republican Scott Brown’s victory in the Massachusetts Senatorial Special
Election on Martha Coakley. It is their modus operandi. When someone or
some organization becomes a political liability, the Obama team throws it under
the bus. They did it to Rev. Jeremiah Wright. They did it to Bill Ayers. They
did it to ACORN. And now they are doing it to Martha Coakley. No, we shouldn’t
be surprised. In Chicago Democrat politics, political liabilities are “dealt
with,” and Barack Obama is a Chicago Machine Progressive-Democrat.
Martha Coakley wasn’t always a “liability,” though. In her defense it should be
pointed out that as recently as 2006, Coakley
won election as the Massachusetts Attorney’s General by a decisive margin,
garnering 73% of the vote. By any standard, a statewide election victory
tallying 73% of the vote is impressive. Coming off that kind of power victory,
we can discern that Coakley knows how to execute a political campaign. Further,
with such a lopsided victory achieved, it would have been logical that she would
have been a strong candidate, against all comers, to safely retain the late Ted
Kennedy’s Senate seat...if left to her own devices.
So, what changed between 2006, when she was so popular with Massachusetts voters
that she won almost three out of every four votes and today when she returns to
work as the Massachusetts Attorney’s General after having lost the Special
Election by five percentage point? Simple, she had to run on President Obama and
the Progressive-Democrats’ agenda and policies and they sunk her at the polls.
It is specifically and exclusively for this very reason that Team Obama is
furiously trying to direct all responsibility and blame for Coakley’s loss onto
Coakley and her team. The Obama team must defend their policies and
agenda – at all costs – as that of national salvation, not ideologically-fueled
political poison pills that would weaken our economy, security and sovereignty.
For Barack Obama to maintain momentum and influence – and in order to secure the
first priority of all Chicago Democrat Machine politicians, re-election – the
“Blunder by the Bay” simply must be Coakley’s fault and hers alone.
But let’s be perfectly clear about what it was that thrust Scott Brown to
victory and onto the Senate floor as vote number 41 against the
Obama-Reid-Pelosi healthcare industry takeover. Coakley may have booted the Curt
Schilling moment and she may have displayed a wee-bit of arrogance in going to
Washington DC to fundraise, but she entered the race a popular politician across
the State of Massachusetts. The multi-headed albatross hanging around Coakley’s
neck was the one representing the healthcare issue and the nation’s righteous
anger with the Obama Administration and what they are doing to our
Constitutional Republic.
Barack Obama, along with his cadre of associates, is a Progressive-Democrat or
Progressive-Liberal. In addition to this, Barack Obama, himself, is a Chicago
Democrat Machine politician; he was born of the Chicago Democrat Machine. On top
of that, he is a product of the “Me Generation,” where self-esteem was falsely
elevated and everyone was led to believe that the world (or in this case the
government) owed them something. These three truths combined make for not only a
politician with an unrealistic and unattainable ideologically utopian worldview
vision, but a politician who quests for the fruition of that vision in such a
self-righteous manner that to describe it as arrogance would be an insult to the
arrogant. Sadly, this misconceived self-importance and false sense of
intellectual superiority is prevalent among the Progressive Left and that goes
doubly-so for Progressive-Leftists who emanate from the Chicago Democrat
Machine, San Francisco and New York.
It is precisely this unbridled arrogance, this assertive cluelessness, which has
propelled Progressives like Nancy Pelosi (CA), Henry Waxman (CA), Jan Schakowsky
(IL), Bobby Rush (IL), Charlie Rangel (NY) and Maurice Hinchey (NY) – not to
mention at least 74 more – to power, not only in the US House of
Representatives, but in the Democrat Party. And it is precisely the unrealistic
and unattainable ideologically utopian worldview vision employed by these
Progressive-Leftists that has led to a moment in time where American voters are
questioning whether they made a huge mistake; whether they were gullible to a
fault, falling prey to the marketing prowess of the Progressive provocateurs of
“hope and change.”
And just when it seemed the darkest, a light shone from beyond the political
storm clouds...
With the advent of the Tea Party Movement, which is really just a moniker for
the constitutional re-awakening of the American people, we stand at a moment in
time when our citizenry is once again taking up the civic responsibility of
governmental oversight; a responsibility mandated by the covenant created in the
Charters of Freedom that We the People have abdicated to special
interests for far too long. We stand at a moment in time when we have awakened
from our apathetic slumber to the coercive prodding of elitist ideologues in the
elected class who are all but saying, “You’re too stupid to know what’s good for
you,” as they try to “fundamentally
transform the United States of America.”
As we stand to defend our Constitution and the Republic that it serves, we must
consider three things before all else:
Constitutional Literacy
We, as a nation, must rededicate ourselves to being constitutionally
literate. It is impossible to value something when its’ worth is unknown.
Without a solid understanding of the basic principles used by our Founders and
Framers in establishing our Constitutional Republic – principles used to craft
The Declaration of Independence, The United States Constitution and The Bill of
Rights – it is sometimes difficult for Americans to recognize the worth of the
American ideal. When the full value of freedom and liberty are not realized it
becomes easy to incrementally relinquish rights guaranteed under the
Constitution. We are seeing that today but we are not feeling the pain of the
relinquishment. It is precisely for this reason that our organization,
BasicsProject.org, included
Constitutional Literacy as its most important pillar.
The Constitutional Re-Awakening
Those of us who understand the Tea Party Movement as an initiative that is
less about political parties and more about Americanism, must make clear to the
political class – meaning all political parties and organizations – that this
constitutional re-awakening cannot be co-opted by any political party. It is not
a Republican or Libertarian movement. It is not an anti-Democrat movement. It is
an American movement of the people meant to realign the government with the
Charters of Freedom, from which our government was born. It is meant to send the
message that in our Constitutional Republic, government was created to and meant
to have limitations, that sovereignty is prized and that the power of government
comes through the will of the people.
Purging the Progressive Movement from Power
It is well passed time that Americans understand that the Progressive
movement in the United states, throughout history, has strived to “fundamentally
transform” the country from a Constitutional Republic, where governmental power
emanates from the people, to a country governed by Democratic Socialism,
complete with “social and economic justice.”
The Progressive movement in the United States – or the
American Fifth Column – is born of the neo-Marxist doctrine of the Frankfort
School. It has always held as its goal the mutation from Americanism
(representative governmental rule by constitutional law) to utopian Democratic
Socialism. It is for this reason that we stand witness to Progressives, now in
the seat of power in two of the three branches of our federal government,
attempting to effectively nationalize strategic elements of our economy while
advancing policy that makes American citizens increasingly dependent on
government.
With our constitutional re-awakening and armed with a new-found knowledge of our
constitutional philosophy, and with a re-dedicated appreciation for our
liberties and freedoms, we must recognize that Progressivism is antithetical to
Americanism and that it must be marginalized and purged from the seat of power.
As we saw in Massachusetts, Democrats and Independents – as well as Republicans,
Conservatives and Libertarians – recognized the tyranny of Progressivism, and
they acted on it, much to their bi-partisan credit. They held to the principles
of Americanism and rejected the limitations and restrictions to liberty and
freedom afforded by the Progressive policies of the Obama Administration and the
Pelosi-Reid Congress. If this can happen in a cobalt-blue state like
Massachusetts, it can happen anywhere and everywhere across our great land.
Moderate, Conservative and even some Liberal Democrats are now sweating the 2010
and 2012 election cycles. They have heard the bell toll in Massachusetts and
they understand that it tolls for the Progressive ideology being foisted upon
the country by Progressive-Democrats and the Obama Administration. But those in
the Democrat Party that want to avoid the bloodletting have an option to certain
annihilation at the polls come 2010 and 2012...
The fact of the matter is that the
Progressive Caucus in the US House of Representatives numbers a scant 80
members out of 435 voting members. The “Blue
Dog Coalition” of Conservative-Democrats numbers 55 members. With 257
Democrats and 178 Republicans currently seated in the
111th Congress, it is not inconceivable to envision a coalition between a
cohesive GOP and a bold Blue Dog Coalition that would not only
unseat Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House, replacing her with a consensus
Blue Dog House member, but sequester the whole of the Progressive Caucus unto
itself, thus rescuing the Democrat Party from almost certain disaster in 2010
and 2012, especially if the Obama Administration continues with its plan to
“fundamentally transformation” our country.
They say that the “shot
heard ‘round the world” was fired from the rifle of an American
Revolutionary Patriot during the Battle at Old North Bridge in Concord,
Massachusetts. It could very well end up being that the “second shot heard
‘round the world” emanates from Massachusetts as well.
By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April's breeze unfurled;
Here once the embattled farmers stood,
And fired the shot heard 'round the world.
– Ralph Waldo Emerson, Concord’s
