While America’s attention is focused on the two candidates in the November elections, as it should be, most of our citizens are unaware of what’s really at stake on November 6, 2012 -- the day the citizens of the United States of America will decide if America will remain the Constitutional Republic our forefathers fought and died to create.

Today as I reflect on the public’s reaction to the rhetoric coming from both political parties, I am haunted by the similarity between the state of our country in 2012 and the fictional scenario I created in the final novel of our Clash of Civilization trilogy, America Reborn. Even more shocking is how similar the situation in the Middle East is to the scenario presented in our second novel, Behold, an Ashen Horse. America’s government had been destroyed by a nuclear terrorist attack, and our statutory president, George Alexander, was preparing the nation to begin the process of electing a new government. A conflict between progressive-liberals and conservatives was raging. Liberals wanted governors to appoint Senators and Representatives. Alexander recognized that it was time for America to decide if it wanted to continue as a Constitutional Republic. When I wrote the following speech for Alexander in 2009, I had no way of knowing how prophetic those words would be in the fall of 2012:

“Today, I want to speak about the future of the Constitutional Republic known as the United States of America...Your country...My country. Ours to make great...or ours to throw away. Decisions we make during the coming months will decide which it will be...”

“This is your government, and you must pay attention to what those you elect are doing with it.”

Profound and challenging words spoken by a president whose country faced many of the same issues plaguing us today. Words that were and still are my clarion call to the people of this country to use their vote to fight to protect themselves from the greatest threat our Republic has ever faced -- the loss of the God given freedoms granted them under our Constitution. Now in the real world of 2012 we face this real decision.

But do Americans care or are they so mind-numbed by years of feel-good propaganda that they are incapable of taking a stand. Will the conservative values imbued in our Constitution through our Founding Fathers’ wisdom prevail? Will our people vote to preserve the capitalist system that made America mankind’s last best hope and the greatest nation in the history of the world? Or, on November 6th, will the multicultural/politically correct socialist values of progressive-liberalism, proglibism, for short, practiced by Proglibs succeed in destroying our Constitutional Republic and creating another failed socialist state? Deeply profound questions -- yet ones that I, along with millions of my fellow patriots must ask ourselves as we approach November 6th.

To find the answers to these questions I decided to begin by addressing who Proglibs are; what do they stand for; what is their philosophy; and what are their goals?

After spending significant amount of time reviewing the proglibism’s history I have concluded that Proglibs arrogantly consider themselves the intelligentsia, the elite, the ones destined to govern the unfortunate masses who cannot grasp their lofty socialist visions. In short I view proglibism as a religious ideology very much akin to that of Islamism. By comparison, both “isms” seek to rule the world, a tenet best described by Kelly OConnell when he wrote on May 23, 2010:

“Arguably, the main fixation behind both ideologies is controlling others, seeing to it they obey all the rules. In other words, both have a predilection towards totalitarianism.”

A fact that may explain in part why liberals are in love with Islam. To quote The Daily Caller OPINION:

“The liberal love affair with Islam is perplexing. While liberals tend to hate traditional Christianity for its more socially conservative worldview, they insist on vigorously defending Islam and its adherents...we are forever sermonized that there is a gulf between Islamist extremism and the “vast majority” of normal Muslims, whom we would apparently love to have as neighbors...”

A belief made even more perplexing by the OPINION’s next statement:

“Liberals deride Christianity and Catholicism in particular for its strict approach towards sexuality, claiming that prohibitions against abortion, contraception, homosexual sex, and premarital sex are simply oppressive forms of prudish patriarchy. But Islam is every bit as traditional on these matters; indeed, Muslim nations are the best allies the Vatican has at the U.N. in fighting against funding for third-world family planning initiatives. You can’t reasonably deride one while accepting the other.”

As for Proglibs cultish predilection to support their leader’s multicultural/politically correct socialist doctrine as gospel and instantly parrot it to others, author Bruce Bawer says it far better than I in his book, Surrender: Appeasing Islam, Sacrificing Freedom:

“But controversial speech also invites disagreement and debate -- and...the plane truth is that just as you have freedom of speech, so do those who don’t share your views. To many politically correct individuals, this is a well-nigh unacceptable fact. They are so accustom to functioning within the cozy confines of PC-dominated environments that when they offer up comments on major issues, they don’t really see themselves as taking part in an exchange of ideas with people whose opinions may differ sharply from their own; rather, they’re preaching to the choir, expressing attitudes that, in their social and professional circles, are simply part of the established orthodoxy. In those circles, it’s usually safe to assume that everybody they meet holds the same positions they do. As a rule, then, the articulation of opinions in such settings isn’t a matter of proffering fresh and challenging insights, but of affirming a communal consensus, of reinforcing a sense of shared moral superiority. When the politically correct speak their minds, accordingly, they expect agreement, approval, nods of satisfaction, hearty pats of the back, words of congratulation; what they don’t expect is to be contradicted. When they are contradicted, a kind of existential trauma may ensue; the speaker may experience the unaccustomed lack of reassuring accord as a violation, a wound to the soul, an infringement upon something deeply valued and utterly taken for granted. And the next thing you know, up go the cries of ‘censorship.’”

William F. Buckley provided another description of this phenomena, “Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views.”

Thus, when the prince of inane ideas -- the creator of the Internet -- declared global warming was threatening to destroy the planet, the faithful, including professors, quickly joined the chorus. Green and renewable energy sources became the Proglibs’ mantra. Existing coal, oil, gas, and nuclear power plants had to be immediately shut down. When asked how this could be done without shutting down the country, the questioner received looks of disbelief. How could the questioner not understand that simply passing a law would immediately create green energy to replace these dirty existing sources?

Ergo, since the latter was an excepted fact, Proglibs moved to bring all coal mining and drilling for oil and gas to a screeching halt, and then set about wasting hundreds of millions of taxpayers’ dollars on technical concepts -- expecting laboratory experiments to miraculously transition into production facilities in one giant step. The end result -- a list of failed companies: Solyndra, Amonix Solar, Solar Trust of America, Bright Source, LSP Energy, Energy Conversion Devices, Abound solar, SunPower, Beacon Power, Ecotality, A123Solar, Azure Dynamics, Evergreen Solar, and Ener1; and higher energy costs.

Proglibs forced Ethanol on us with The Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). Enacted in 2005 and significantly expanded in 2007, the RFS requires that 13.2 billion gallons of corn starch-derived biofuel be produced in 2012. The intent was to reduce both greenhouse gas emissions blamed for climate change and dependence on foreign oil. Normally 40 % of the U.S.’s corn crop is used to produce ethanol, 36% for animal feed, and the remainder for processed foods and export. However, the drought has reduced the size of the corn crop, thus the requirement for 13.2 billion gallons of corn starch-derived biofuel will consume most of the available corn harvest.

Once again “unintended consequences” bedevil the Proglibs, thwarting their ill-conceived schemes. The consequences of this Proglib fantasy are: an unanticipated draught; a severe shortage of corn for animal food; and an increase in the price of corn from an average $2.15 a bushel in the 1997-2006 period to more than $8 today; which will undoubtedly lead to a huge increase in the price for meat.

If that isn’t bad enough, to add insult to injury, not only does it take more than a gallon of conventional fuel (gasoline and diesel) to produce one gallon of ethanol, but the energy contained in one gallon of ethanol is less than the energy contained in a gallon of gasoline or diesel fuel. [http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/ethanol.shtml] Once again Proglibs have made us pay more for less, and this simple comparison does not include the damage ethanol causes to engines.

Puzzled by what I’d learned so far, I couldn’t help but wonder if Proglibs weren’t all wearing green tinfoil hats. Why, I asked myself would they support radical Islamists, since Islam is their ultimate nemesis? How could Proglibs not recognize the conflict? Don’t Islamists want to execute homosexuals, while Proglibs accept and promote homosexuality? Once again the above-cited OPINION article in the Daily Caller provides an answer:

“Islam goes way beyond Christianity by embracing doctrines that actually are oppressive, demeaning to women, and tyrannical. Throughout the Middle East, there is widespread acceptance of polygamy, of giving adolescent girls in marriage, of female genital mutilation, of harsh criminal sanctions against fornication and homosexuality (a capital offense in some countries), all of which is done in accordance with interpretations of Shariah law that are accepted by significant percentages of the Muslim world. While Proglibs rightly revile American polygamists, they fail to acknowledge that every major Muslim country (with the exception of Turkey and a few smaller countries) legally provides for this disgusting practice.”

So how can the two isms support each other? The answer is they don’t. Muslim leaders secretly laugh at Proglibs as they become Islam’s “Useful Idiots.” Useful Idiots who apologize for Islam -- calling it “peaceful” and labeling anyone who contradicts their sacred pronouncement an “Islamaphobe” -- a term, which, according to the following revelations by former International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) member Abdur-Rahman Muhammad:

“...was invented and promoted in the early 1990s by the IIIT, a front group of the Muslim Brotherhood...This loathsome term is nothing more than a thought-terminating cliché conceived in the bowels of Muslim think tanks for the purpose of beating down critics.” In short, in its very origins, ‘Islamophobia’ was a term design as a weapon to advance a totalitarian cause by stigmatizing critics and silencing them. This plan was an outgrowth of the Muslim Brotherhood’s ‘General Strategic Goal for North America,’ by which the organization aimed to wage ‘a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands...so that God’s religion [Islam] is made victorious over all religions.’ To implement this plan, the Brotherhood enlisted the help of 29 likeminded ‘organizations of our friends’ (one of which was the IIIT) [http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/viewSubCategory.asp?id=1235], whose task would be to depict themselves as civil-rights groups speaking out on behalf of a Muslim American population that was allegedly besieged by outsiders who harbored an illogical, unfounded fear of them -- i.e., by a society replete with ‘Islamophobia.’”

Thus, like Judas Goats, each “ism” strives to outdo the other in their quest to lead Americans down Islam’s path to dhimmitude -- subjugation under Shariah law, proglibism’s path to socialism.

Now, how do these Proglib revelations relate to their leaders position on foreign policy on the Middle East? Barack Obama promised change, and change we got. One of his first acts was to travel to Cairo and apologize for America’s foreign policy. While there, he praised Islam and recited from the Qur’an. Later he bowed to the Saudi Arabian king. Acts perceived as weakness by Muslims and the Middle East as a whole. Pandering to his Proglib base, he embraced the Muslim Brotherhood’s claim it had now become secular. By doing so Obama demonstrated he was either a master of taqiyya (deception), or totally ignorant of the Muslim Brotherhood credo. Either way, his actions turned loose the crazies and Islamic revolutions swept across the Middle East. But this was not enough. More change was required.

The Arab Spring began in December 2010 in Tunisia where Obama threw our first ally under his bus. Proglibs, especially those in the news medial, hailed the Arab Spring as the Arabs path to democracy. And how did that work out? Not very well for secular Arabs, Christians, and Jews. Once again the Proglib crowd failed to grasp that Western thinking is out of sink with Middle Eastern thinking. Forgiveness is weakness. Power garners respect. Revenge is expected if not required.

The Obama administration has treated the Muslim Brotherhood as a secular organization and the Proglibs embraced the idea making it holy writ. The administration, our elected and appointed government officials, invited the Muslim Brotherhood into our government and backed their candidate for the presidency of Egypt. Our president, in an attempt to outdo Jimmy Carter, threw our ally, Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak under his large bus, opening the road for a Muslim Brotherhood takeover of Egypt. The Arab Spring’s transition to “Democracy” demonstrates the failure of the Obama administration’s approach to Islam. What Obama and his advisers consider reasonable -- offering to negotiate -- Islamist leaders consider weakness. Egypt is the perfect example. While we watch without seeing, another Islamic theocracy is being established -- another Iran. Even though recent events clearly indicate the opposite, Proglibs have fallen hook, line and sinker for Islamists taqiyya that Islam “respects” other religions. Take for example the “respect” Egypt’s new Islamic government demonstrated when they closed the last Jewish synagogue and allowed Coptic Christians’ churches to be destroyed. Coptic Christians and Jews are fleeing Egypt.

How about freedom of speech? Middle East media confirmed that during a recent rampage, Muslim Brotherhood operatives “crucified those opposing Egyptian President Muhammad Morsi naked on trees in front of the presidential palace while abusing others.”

In his book entitled The Fight for Jerusalem, Dore Gold quotes an article written by Ayman Al-Zawahiri in which he stated:

“The Way to Jerusalem passes through Cairo,” that the “worldwide jihad had to begin by vanquishing the anti-Islamist regimes across the Arab world -- what he called the “Near Enemy.” Jerusalem, he wrote, “will not be opened until the battles in Egypt and Algeria have been won and until Cairo has been opened.”

How much plainer can it get? Morsi is paving the road through Cairo to Jerusalem. The Muslim Brotherhood, mother to numerable fundamentalist Islamic organizations, was founded in Egypt in 1929. Egyptian physician Al-Zawahiri, successor to Bin Laden as head of Al-Qaeda, and a member of the Muslim Brotherhood since the age of 14 condemned Egypt’s regime under toppled leader Husni Mubarak in one of several audio messages he made to the Egyptian people:

“The reality of Egypt is one of deviation from Islam as well as ideological, political, economic, financial, moral and social corruption.”

So, who or what is the Muslim Brotherhood? Their credo provides a clue:

"Allah is our objective; the Quran is our law, the Prophet is our leader; Jihad is our way; and death for the sake of Allah is the highest of our aspirations."

The Brotherhood's English language website describes the, "principles of the Muslim Brotherhood," as including firstly the introduction of the Islamic Shariah as ‘the basis for controlling the affairs of state and society;’ and secondly work to unify ‘Islamic countries and states, mainly among the Arab states, and liberating them from foreign imperialism."

Once this feat has been accomplished, and the Muslim Brotherhood is very close to meeting its goal, a new Islamic Empire will spring forth, a caliphate.

According to Iranian state television, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in June congratulated overthrown Egyptian President Mubarak’s successor, Egyptian President Morsi, on his election as Egypt's first Islamist president, calling Morsi’s his victory an "Islamic awakening in the region." Expressed in simple terms:

Islamic awakening = imposing Shariah law = Islamic governments = Caliphate.

Somehow American’s have forgotten that the West was at war with the caliphate for 1,300 years. The Ottoman Empire, the caliphate, was defeated during WWI and the caliphate was suspended in 1928.

Now, while the news media concentrates on the fall elections, the Middle East pot is boiling. The Arab Spring that began in December 2010 in Tunisia is now the Arab Winter. Actually, we have witnessed the folly of proglibism. I am convinced that Proglibs simply can’t contemplate the concept of being wrong. How else can they continue to make one misstep after another, never learning from their mistakes? Wasn’t it Einstein who said, “Insanity: is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”

Egypt’s new secular, democratic president, Mohamed Morsi hoodwinked the gullible Proglib crowd which includes the news media. Now they can’t admit it, so they continue to put a good face on evil and sit by while Obama sends Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood government 1.5 billion dollars, and had our military join Egypt’s in joint military exercises.

Syria is in the throws of a civil war, and -- like Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and Egypt -- the battle is for control by Islamists. One can find the deft hand of the Muslim Brotherhood in all these places, as well a Somali, and throughout Africa. The war in Syria is spilling over the borders into Lebanon and Jordan where King Abdullah II is the last strong man blocking the path of the Muslim Brotherhood’s plan to form a new caliphate. A new war is looming on the horizon.

By now most citizens have heard that Iran is seeking an atomic bomb and that the president of Iran wants to wipe Israel off the map. Some also know that the real power in Iran is the supreme leader, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, who has also stated his desire to wipe Israel off the map.

Can Israeli count on the Obama administration to stop Iran’s nuclear weapons program. The answer is no. Washington reportedly sent Tehran indirect message saying it will not back Israeli strike on nuclear facilities as long as Iran refrains from attacking American facilities in Persian Gulf, while Israel is openly hinting at an attack on Iran to stop Iran’s atomic bomb program.

Is Obama saving a place for Israel under his very large bus? It sure looks that way and yet, unbelievably, American Jews incomprehensibly continue to support him and the Democrat Party -- just as many did Hitler in the 1930s. Ironically some researchers claim Hitler himself was a Jew, as is proven left-winger George Soros.

And even more ironically the very Jews who built the nation of Israel as a haven from the Hitlers of the world and could once count on America for protection, now stand alone while the storm clouds gather. Egypt’s President Morsi is using so called terrorist attacks in the Sinai by Islamic terrorist as an excuse to order tanks be positioned along the Israeli border under the command of Muslim Brotherhood generals. Only a fool could not see that Morsi’s claim is pure deception, taqiyya. The Muslim Brotherhood, and their man Morsi are dedicated to the destruction of Israel. Add to this the threat of attack by Hizbullah and Hamas and you begin to understand why Israelis are preparing to the fight for their lives.

October appears to be the tipping month in the Middle East, because it is the last opportunity to act before the November 6th election. Israel’s calculus must include the assumption that if Obama is reelected, he will not prevent Iran and/or Egypt from attacking and destroying Israel. Thus, it will be better for Israel to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities before November because Obama cannot afford to openly throw them under his humongous Canadian built bus before the election.

Iran’s calculus must include the assumption that it will be better to take out Israel before the November elections, counting on a subdued American response. If they wait and Romney is elected, an Iranian attack on Israel may result in a massive attack by the U.S.

Egypt’s calculus is easy to understand. A war between Iran and Israel will result in the destruction of Israel’s Army and Air Force, opening the door for Egypt to invade and “liberate” “Occupied Palestine.” Thus Jerusalem is “opened” and becomes the capital of a new Islamic state and possibly the new caliphate.

Events that began on September 11th in Libya and Egypt indicate that the pot is beginning to boil over. Muslim Brotherhood fanatics assassinated four American diplomats. Politically correct policies of the Obama administration -- especially those of the State Department -- are the real culprits: along with, Marines with no ammunition; the president skipping Intelligence briefings to attend fund raisers; and the administration ignoring previous attacks in Benghazi and warnings of the latest attacks because (Can you believe it?) they were not “actionable.”

Men and women in the military take an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I took this oath, and still feel bound by it today. In order to defend the Constitution, one must speak out, and it is the duty of retired and former officers and NCOs to do so. Yet, the current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin Dempsey, has denounced a group of former CIA agents, Navy SEALs and other military members that formed a group know as the Special Operations OPSEC Education Fund’s ad blasting Obama for security leaks on his watch and taking too much credit for the SEALs raid that got Usama bin Laden.

Am I the only one or, does it look to you as though General Dempsey’s actions put him in conflict with his oath?

Citizens of the United States you cannot control events in the Middle East, but you can vote -- vote to keep our constitutional republic, or vote to throw it away.
