Obama’s Pre-Election Panic
Greg Lewis
August 29, 2012
It’s becoming clear that Barack Obama will do anything to buy, cajole, intimidate, and otherwise finagle to get another four years as Dictator-in-Chief of the United States.

Anything but govern, that is.

He hasn’t spent measurable time doing any of the constitutionally-defined presidential duties since November of last year, when he began a never-ending campaign swing through many battleground states. Obama’s dereliction of presidential duty includes his not not deigning to consult with Congressional leaders regarding important legislative issues, failing to have a single meeting with his jobs council in more than six months, and neglecting to visit our ally Israel on a recent junket regarding what we might do in the face of a Middle East that is rapidly descending into chaos, in no small part because of our own president’s “leading from his behind” on foreign policy.

Now he’s paddling as fast as he can to avoid going over the political waterfall looming directly ahead of him before the election.

If he loses in November, he’ll doom his chances of keeping a promise he made implicitly to the many dictatorships with whose leaders he curries favor. Obama gave us a hint of this when he whispered to Russian president Dmitri Medvedev to tell Russian president-elect Vladimir Putin that after the election he (Obama) would have “more flexibility” and would make concessions on the U.S. missile defense plan when he no longer had to face the electorate.

Here are some of the things Obama’s accomplished while facing re-election. In the face of an economy ready to implode, Obama has taken these important steps to stave off financial disaster:

▪ He’s begged the Eurozone to keep Greece as a member country until after the election, fearing that a Greece default on its debt and the country’s withdrawal from the doomed EU before November might trigger a panic that would seal the economic deal and end the president’s already tenuous hold on power.

▪ Obama and his leftist radical EPA Secretary Lisa Jackson have stymied the completion of the Keystone XL pipeline and oil exploration and drilling offshore and on federally-owned land in order to keep their tiny radical environmentalist constituency happy at the expense of our becoming, not only energy independent, but fiscally solvent within the next decade.

▪ In the face of dramatically rising food and oil prices and the pending risk of soaring inflation, the Obama administration is lobbying the Fed for a third round of Quantitative Easing, and there is talk that Ben Bernanke intends to initiate QE3 before the election in the hopes of stalling our economic collapse long enough to buy Obama a second term.

Regarding Obama’s attitude toward the military and national defense:

▪ His administration has provided “guidance” to defense contractors facing the need to lay off employees due to the pending military sequestration not to send pink slips to their employees before the election, even though the WARN Act requires them to issue termination notices 60 days before an impending layoff -- just prior to the election

▪ He has offered to provide Israel with advanced weapons, including more powerful bunker-busting bombs, if Israel will hold off attacking Iran until 2013.

The president’s pandering to Hispanics and Latinos here illegally has all the earmarks of a dictator impatient to reveal his true colors:

▪ He’s issued an executive order providing de facto amnesty to upwards of two million Latino children and young adults whose parents came to this country illegally, and the president had the gall to charge them 465 bucks for the privilege. The policy, issued by executive fiat, provides work permits for the illegals in the face of 8.3 percent unemployment among Americans here legally. The hordes of illegals gathering to sign up bore an eerie similarity to lines of true believers waiting to genuflect, a testament to Obama’s success in promoting the image of president as savior.

▪ The Department of Homeland Security’s use of deferred deportation policy to deny American citizens their constitutional guarantees against the breaching of our borders has caused ten ICE agents to bring suit against Big Sis for forcing them to violate federal law by not allowing them to carry out their duties.

▪ With illegal aliens and criminals making up an important segment of the Democratic constituency, Attorney General Eric Holder is doing everything in his power to promote illegal voters’ rights by suing to stop states from purging their rolls of illegal voters. Don’t think for a New York minute that a substantial number of those 1.8 million newly-credentialed illegal aliens won’t be using their work permits to wangle their way into voting booths in November.

Obama’s campaign charade is more, though, than something he needs to do in order to cover up his unpreparedness for the presidency. In fact, he’s well on his way to having accomplished the true purpose of his administration: To weaken the United States militarily and economically to such an extent that his party can literally take control of the country, implementing nothing short of a dictatorship worthy of Karl Marx’s anti-capitalist vision.

In other words, Obama’s strategy includes burying us under a debt that we can never dig out from. Within a matter of a few years, the global economy promises to collapse under more than $600 trillion in bogus “collateralized” debt that doesn’t show up on big-bank balance sheets, an event that will likely trigger the excuse for martial law and the permanent assumption of power by a second Obama administration.

The president’s strategy also included his weakening our military through such tactics stacking the deck against any possible budget resolution and so insuring that sequestration would kick in and further devastate a military stretched to the breaking point by more than a decade of war. His giving away Iraq by a total withdrawal of U.S. forces and his hands-off response to the “Arab spring” gave Obama’s real allies -- Muslim brotherhood extremists -- the opportunity to assert much greater control in Iraq and elsewhere than had previously been possible.

And his policy of buying favor through providing government benefits such as food stamps, welfare, and other government programs designed to keep illegal aliens and those his economic policies have put out of work at a subsistence-level existence assures that he and his leftist cohorts have an unassailable voter base for the foreseeable future.

We have to ask the question, “Is this Obama’s intent?”
